Carignan is possibly one of the most planted, and yet hated varietals in the word, hence why it's also one of our favourites. In inexpensive Languedoc wines, it brings acidity and tannins, and juice. But it's when talented winemakers tame and soften its rough personality that it shines. It has a signature spicey and savoury character that is emphasised here by Eric for Le Passage.
